Live forever. Laugh louder. Love longer.

Well it’s that time again… Schools are starting prom events for students to partake on that one night of special memories and expectations for some individuals. I will not need to explain the expectations because its told in every high school movie genre. I can’t say I went through any of that because I missed out on the most special night of a high school girl’s life; however, I will be working at a prom event tonight and this maybe will satisfy me on the one thing I missed out on.

I keep wondering what if I go back and relive high school, actually go to prom. It’s not like it was a choice of not going. I had two chances and both fell through. My grade 12 year, the tickets were sold out before I had the chance to even purchase one. The year after that, finances kicked me in the butt, I was sick and at the time my mom was too. I suppose it made it harder for me to go and have a night of fun.

Anyways, I heard bad and good things about prom from everyone of my friends. I would like to see what the deal is with that event and even though I won’t be “dolled up” and have a corsage and a date or go with friends. At least I can somehow say I went to prom.

It’s funny, I keep thinking about the movie, Never Been Kissed, starring Drew Barrymore and how she goes back to high school for an article, but relives her whole high school days and ends up kissing a guy. I would like that in a sense that I would like to go to prom somehow someday, relive my high school days just for that opportunity.

Anyhow, tonight will be a foreshadow of what I missed out and always wish I didn’t miss the chance of experiencing what every (or almost every) high school student went through. Hope work goes well tonight.
